Hafa Adai and Welcome to Guam!!
I am very excited to be your new President and am really looking forward to another great year in the AOSC!
May was a busy month with socials to end the 2008-2009 board year. On May 15 we had our scholarship
luncheon where over $20,000 was given out to seven deserving individuals. Kudos to Amy Salley, our
Scholarship Chair, for a successful and enjoyable luncheon. Also in May, Lina Ruhlman hosted a wonder-
ful appreciation brunch for your outgoing Board of Governors. Thank you Lina! We had a great going
away social in May where we fare-welled too many of our wonderful friends. We wish each one of them
the best of luck in their new homes. Remember, the Air Force is a small world and I know you will bloom
where you are planted!
This summer brings in our new friends and AOSC members. The AOSC needs your help in
recruiting new members. We are all recruiters for the AOSC! If you know of any individuals who are eligible to become AOSC members, please let me or the Sunshine Committee Chairs, Stacy
Olsen and Nellie Boyer know. We will have cookies delivered with welcome packets which
include information about our club as well as Andersen AFB and the local community.
Everyone loves to be welcomed to a new place.
For those of you traveling this summer, enjoy your vacations and be sure to check the baggage rules. For
those hanging around, the Book Club, Bunko and Lunch Bunch will continue through the summer. If
anyone is willing to take on another special activity currently not active, please let Fran Aftanas know!
I am anticipating a fun and enjoyable new year and I look forward to being your President.
I know everyone will chip in to make this a year to remember!
Remember, this is your club, so if you have any comments, concerns or ideas to make it better, please let
me know!
I hope everyone has a wonderful summer! Mark your calendars for our August Special
Activities Social scheduled for August 24! It will be a blast and it is FREE! Invite both old, new and po-
tential AOSC friends to join us!
Sincerely,
Christy Todd
